Josh Raatz of Lake County Discus
Josh has kept and bred a variety of freshwater fish, but has only maintained discus for the last four years. "I purchased my first few discus when I bought my house because I wanted a nice display tank in my living room. I was hooked shortly after and purchased my first pair of discus and tried to breed them. After a few unsuccessful attempts, I finally succeeded and was addicted to discus instantly." Josh buying discus from various websites, forums and even Craigslist as wall as just about any size tanks to house his fish. He now has 47 tanks set up. "I started breeding and selling fry along with discus that didn't make it in my breeding program. I literally had discus everywhere. Then I started importing to save money and of course to get the first pick of all new stock." Josh spoke at the 2016 North American Discus Association convention and soon after created Lake County Discus. "Lake County Discus is a family business and our goal is to offer excellent quality discus at an affordable price."
