-- These are great Tanganyikans because of their unusual behavior. Thanks for the great video posts.

Just got back 5 hours later and he moved 4 more shells and the shell with the earlier female around again. After feeding, a second female is shelled up right now and he's been doing his hovering act.

Really nice video when I saw those on the list, I thought they would be great pick for the club.

How many males versus females did you end up with.

The should breed pretty soon, I hope to see them make the bap rounds.

A Pig and a Chicken are walking down the road. The Chicken says, "Pig, I was thinking we should open a restaurant!". Pig replies, "What would we call it?". The Chicken responds, "How about ham-n-eggs?" The Pig thinks for a moment and says, No thanks. I'd...

First have to say, great selection of tanganyikans on Sunday and many of them really nice sized which is great with many of the slow growing tanganyikans.

Due to limitted space, I only picked up two species, one being a very cool shell dweller type, Lamprologus callipterus. I enjoy fish with more personality than boring and colorful species so was quite excited to pick this species up.

In the wild, this species is known for the males being 3-4 times the size of it's females and quite controlling of it's harem. They are known to even steal other males' females that are in shells, swim over and grab the shell with the female in it and pull it back to their territory.

Turned on the lights today and found the male had moved a shell about 18" across the tank and very defensive of the shell with a female inside. They didn't take long at all to start showing good signs!

Around 2 minute mark, you can see a quick glimpse of female tail as the male exits the shell entrance.
