Thanks, there are some nice pairings in that group. I would love to see a pic of that tank.

A have a 150 in my living room with a group of 5 Mpimbwe fronts. The fronts are currently 5"-6".
With them I have:
1 Neolamp brichardi adult
3 Neolamp leleupi
2 Lamp. calvus inkfin
1 Lanp calvus yellow
1 pair of S. freyeri (male is about 7")
1 adult J. ornatus
a small school of petricola cats
and a foot long generic pleco
The only aggression is between members of the same species and that is minimal.
Lots of hiding places will go a long way in managing aggression.
There is a lot to look at and there is always something going on in this tank.
You can do all kinds of fish successfully with your fronts! Just be patient and ready to remove fish if it isn't working.

I also have a 240 that is just about done that I don't know what I am going to put in it. I thought I would start with the 125 until they get some more size on them. thanks for the suggestions. I like the comps idea also. I am going to an auction on the 29th in Iowa. I'll have to see what they have.

A little reference:

www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1968
Eric Glab, is (I think still) a GCCA guy: www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/frontosa_tankmates.php

This one specifically mentions calvus as good but warns of stealing frontosa eggs. It is a forum thread with discussion www.cyphos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2656 It also has a comment about someone with permaxillaris per the first link that was happy with the results. That would be a great Tanganyikan tank, but you have 14 fronts and your tank is only a 125. So calvus or lamps, some mild Malawi haps/? and Tanganyikan synodontis.

I have a group of 14 fronts ranging from 4" to 2". I have the smaller ones in a seperate tank to catch up. They are from two different pairs. I am going to be putting them in a 125 soon. I would like to add at least one other type fish. I was thinking of Calvus. Would they make good tank mates for the Fronts? Any other suggestions?
