A budget shellie tank in the making.

8 years 1 month ago #33485 by will5
Sorry that it's been a while but here is the tank minus the 3D back ground. The reason it's not on is because both my friend and myself forgot to leave and area for the filter intake, so with it on the filter won't fit. Anyway once I figure out whether I want to mod it or just build another it'll go on...or not. Here are some pics right after filling it.

The sand is from HomeDepot and came pre-wash, but I still gave it a quick wash. And the rocks were all locally collected. I did not add any fish yet because I want to see if the rocks and sand are going to play with my water.

Anyway let me know what you think so far? Also do you think I should add more sand, I have about an inch up front and an inch and half in the back?

My Brevis are close to breeding size, so maybe by the time your tank is ready, I will have some fry for you.

So I say to her……There is plenty of stuff at the house for the baby to eat!!!! I REALLY need this fish……

I got some from her before, very nice fish at super affordable price plus she donates all the proceeds from fish sales for children in needs.

That's a great deal but unfortunately I am not setup for them yet. :( Thanks anyway though

I found pool filter sand at Farm & Fleet that is a nice white/off-white color that works great. It was like $6 a bag

The shells would be great, thanks! Will they let me into the classic even though I am not a member? There isn't any sand in this tank yet, that is just my carpet being seen thorough the bottom of the tank. I still need to pick a sand. I may be going to go with play sand since I have heard a 50lb or 80lb bag of it at homedepot sales for $5. I have yet to check into it though. That will be WAY more then I need, but I guess I can give the rest away to someone here.

I am really glad to hear someone else besides me likes the way it's looking though. :)
