Fronts like to dig. They like to have a "cave" in most instances. Are the pits under something, like a rock or branch or something that creates cover?  Also fronts are mouthbrooders so you wouldn't see eggs. Lastly, generally speaking they need to be about 2 - 2.5 years old to breed.

Front question?? was created by angelomm
so in my 120 gallon i have 3-7 stripe fronts......two being around 3 inches...one noticeably larger at around 4 to 4 1/2.....within the past two weeks they have dug out all the sand out from the bottom of my holey rock....down to bare glass...but whats funny is that did this in 3 seperate areas......nobodys guarding...and i didnt see any guys...so im curious as to why they did this....i have noticed them doing it for about 11 days now......they area in which the one larger male spit out the sand-and gravel is about 5 inches high now!!! halarious to watch..but any meaning to it??

i know when my S.A's clean a spot out they usually spawn within a day or so.....but they also guard that spot with their lives......not seeing that in this case..
