I see. Well I'll try to find out which fish will be less stressful to my peacocks then. Its good that I know all this now.

the other fish dont have to be as aggressive. just somewhat similar temperment. i prefer the dems in a species only tank. it was only recently that i decided to add the yellow labs to the tank and really like the color contrast.

fry cant kill anything but will they survive in the tank with the other species in the tank. once the dems hit about 1 inch they start to become aggressive. so the theory of raising them together doesnt work with demasoni.

Oh. I am about to give up on that idea now... why is it the small and cute fish have to be crazy and agressive? Anyone know of any other mumbas that are agressive twords themselves but not as crazy? I want to try and get demasioi but am afraid now that war will break out and something horrable will happen ...like a mass murder in the tank or something .... on the bringht side at least I'm getting the Ruby Reds...

Males are the ones who fight for the control of the tank. while some fish are ok in all male tanks i would not set up the demasoni in an all male tank. also males and females are identical in appearance except for one minor white spot at the rear base of the an*l fin.

I was looking at the vendors for the swap and there is someone selling all male demasoni ..... what If I get them? then maybe I can get less because they will not have females to fight over for so they might get along better.

Yep. Didn't have too much of a problem...but might have just been lucky. I've heard that more than four is desireable (heard this after I had purchased the four, of course).
But...again...they never bred, so that's probably part of the fall out of not having enough.
I'm pretty sure that Hazard has had quite a bit of success breeding these guys...so he might be a good person to pick the brain of as well.....
