Are you looking to be involved or commited
A Pig and a Chicken are walking down the road. The Chicken says, "Pig, I was thinking we should open a restaurant!". Pig replies, "What would we call it?". The Chicken responds, "How about ham-n-eggs?" The Pig thinks for a moment and says, No thanks. I'd...

While editing a post, click on the icon that looks like a picture with a link.
It also says image link - when you hover over it
You can also just go to your picture over on image shack and click embed and paste it right in the editor like I did.

Yes and no.... the insert picture on this forum makes the picture tiny. The links I posted I knew how to do that but I was talking about putting the actual photos in this post so you can view them without clicking on a link.

I wanted to say hello to everyone. I am pretty new to the forum and the hobby but I think I have come a long way very fast. I think I have been into the hobby for about 2.5 years. I tried to keep Mbuna when I was in high school and it was was disaster due to a Auratus killing everyone one by one.
I started with a 29 gallon this time around with a few dwarf plecos and 2 bolivan rams they ended up breeding and I moved to a 40 breeder tank and raised fry which I then sold them locally to a breeder by the name of Ron(dont know if he is on here on not). I then did a overhaul and did a full planted tank with celebese rainbows, electric blue rams, triple red cockatoo's and gold nugget plecos l-177. You can see the tank in the attachments and some of the fish. I lost a gold nugget due to him wanting to jump out of the tank for no reason while I wasn't home.
This lead me to try something different.......
Back to african cichlids for another attempt. I was pointed to the GCCA and started studying as I did with my South/Central American tank. I didn't want to go with a larger tank yet so I decided to do a mbuna tank.
I decided to go with Texas rock and white seafloor sand. I have made a few fish selection mistakes already but they will be corrected soon. I need to remove my acei(gets too large) and my mbamba(too many BB males).... once I can catch them without moving everything around. Any slick tips are welcome!
I am running 2 Eheim 2213's and a 4 bulb t5 fixture. The tank has been running for about 2 months now. I plan on putting on a marineland 350 just to catch a bunch of the top/mid level floating debris. Mainly will use it as a polisher. Since keeping my last tank I got use to water changes every other day so I do the same here.
As of right now my Cobue is the tank boss and has already bred with both his females within the same week(didnt know they can do this). The aggression is pretty spread out right now with the exception of the Mbamba who is getting beat up on by the Cobue/Hara/Demasoni trio. Need to get him out soon. My White lab, Yellow lab push my Red Zebra around but Ive heard that will flip flop soon.
I just wanted to introduce myself and show my tank with some pictures. Let me know what you think and give me all the help you can. I do have this question: As you can see I can get green algae to grow very easily and nicely... All of my fish eat this all day. In this case how often could I not feed them fish food so they can keep the algae down without it being bad for their health?
