Protomelas sp. "Spilonotus Tanzania" holding

Let her hold for a few days. If the eggs are good she will still have them by Wednesday and they should have hatched by then. Then you can pull them and finish in a tumbler.

Ok a month and three days later she is holding again -

no food for three days need to decide if to strip her right away or let her hold for a while.

Good advise will try it next time, she was holding since Sunday.

It was kind of funny seeing myself scrambling to grab a net thinking I was going to get the eggs. The other fish enjoyed the eggs a little more than the NLS I was feeding them.

Well again here's to next time.

I do the same as Steve. See a female holding, and no one eats for a few days.

what I have found that seems to work when I get females that get too excited about food and spit the eggs out to get it is once I noticed a female holding in the tank I go along the same premise as when you would be fasting your fish for shipping or for an auction and not feed the tank for 2 or 3 days to allow the female to realize what she actually has going on and she doesn't let go of the eggs then.

Seems to work for me

Fed my fish today and she spit her eggs all over tank so she can get some food :(.

I was debating trying to pull her out and strip her just before feeding her but usually like to wait to over a week.

Well here's hoping to next month.
