-- I like your idea of keeping dwarf pikes in the 75 gallon. I had some Crenicichla compressiceps before and they can be quite nasty without adequate space. In a 75 you might be able to keep two pairs simultaneously (I am not saying you will, but you might) and still have all the upper space for some other species. Maybe some cyprinids or something. Something that schools and won't compete for the pikes' territories would be great. Just because you have a big tank doesn't mean you have to have big fish.

I've been breeding tropical fish for 50 years now, including a lot of cichlids. I have soon- to- be empty 75 and I'm looking for something to do with it. Thinking about dwarf pikes, maybe ragani or notophthalmus, but they seem a little small for that tank. Maybe something a little bigger, like sexatilis? Or maybe some other medium sized cichlid. I like cichlasomas with long fin extensions, but a lot of them are too big and some are too small. I'm enjoying shopping around and maybe someone has an idea I haven't thouight of.
