Anyone remember Almquatics?

i only visited once. I think they were one of the founder (fathers or mothers) of the gcca.

I vaguely remember hearing someone had health problems. Ever make it to the back room Mike? That was the coolest place on the planet.

I do. I bought fish from them when I was 13 or 14 - so 39 or 40 years ago. There is a home depot at that location now. I'm sure they went out of business over 20 years ago.

A topic from someone asking what the good stores to visit in Chicago may be got me missing Almquatics. I'm wondering if anyone else reading here was lucky enough to spend time there. I can't imagine my childhood without it...
