Whats their competition? or are they Stand alones (Tank of Lyonsi only)? I have the h.pano, the Freddies and the BB from hades in my tank....

Looks Great Scott! My Dominate male is starting to show Red, But not as nice as yours! I am feeding Tetra Sticks, Freeze Dried Krill, Frozen Mysis, and Frozen Krill, I think I need more Greens tho...

What are you feeding? And if you say "Girabaldi's Trout Chow" @ $4 a pound, Ill kick your arse!

Wow!!  Maybe its their diet, but the caudal, a.nal, and dorsal fins of the lyonsi is now bright red in appearance.  I have seen pics on the 'net of this fish, but nothing with a red as vibrant as this.  Here are some crappy pics:






Look at the fins of the fish in the lower right corner.  Red like fire engine!

I love mine Scott!

Lyonsi are such a nice Amp, so less aggressive then the rest of the genus...I have 2 males, so when you can sex yours, let me know, mine need a lady!

Have 7 of these guys and I have not been giving them any respect, usually having tankmates a little more aggressive and preventing them from getting comfortable and interacting.  They finally now have their own 6 foot tank and are starting to color up quite nicely.  My largest is maybe 6 inches, they share similar coloring as that of trimacs - nice yellow base, bright red eyes, pinkish belly, reddening of the tail.  This one looks to be a male.  They bar up when stressed - you can see a smaller barred one toward the bottom of the pic:
