The fish are Malawian -

The female looks to be of the family of Aulonocara and the male it is to hard to tell if he is a hap or a Aulonocara.

If they are aulonocara's, I have no idea what kind maybe Koningsi, he should get more color as he grows.

If they did not have a specific species name they are most likely pond raised which tend to be mixes / hybrids of different fishes.

Welcome put some more pictures up has he grows.

hello all!

this is my first time on this site, and boy is it awesome!
About 8 months ago, we bought a pair of fish from our LFS. M&F
the female was holding at the time we purchased her, and the male that was purchased was the only colored fish in the tank at the time. So we bought them as a pair hoping they were the breeding pair. We still are unsure if they are but we arent sure what the male is. could any of you by chance id this guy? also we think the female is a ruby red, because she looks like our other females, but just to make sure.

male is the 1/2 pic, female is 3/4
we appreciate everyone's comments and thoughts!

thanks!!

Thanks!

Amber & Christian
