Ok, I am now becoming a big Aquarium Adventure fan. Just stopped by and picked up four real nice 4" Cichla monoculus. I'll shoot some pics when they get acclimated.

Aquarium Adventures Hoffman estates rocks.

It's big there is almost always something there that is rare and worth breeding.

I have seen several of our fish that we bring in at the rare fish auction there.

I have picked up fish during there 50% sale that are quite reasonable.

Again lets keep the thread positive.

Yea, its pretty easy to piss all over the area stores, and I am guilty for doing so, maybe not to this specificity, but guilty nonetheless. Maybe we can turn this 10-month thread around and support the stores that are worth supporting, rewarding them for bringing quality cichlids, and maybe some not so common species. If anyone has such a store id'd, post a note. Mine is Roe Aquarium in Rock Island, IL. Top notch stock, quality owner, and never disappoints. Who else has a store for us?

Scott's Pet Shop is no longer on Wolf Rd. It's on 433 Ogden Ave Clarendon Hills, IL. And I might add that this store is not the great looking store it used to be. In fact it's a S@!T hole now. The fish are all half dead and everything else is just kind of tossed everywhere, so good luck finding anything. Now the state of the place would be explainable if they had just moved, but they moved over a year and a half ago. This place is best avoided.

AA is at least a good show, but is hit or miss.

The best store I've seen in a while was up in your area. Hoffers was definitly worth the trip.

Scotts is under new management, and don't think they have it under control yet.

Good luck

Hate to recommend a chain but the nicest peacocks I have seen in the chicagoland area are at - lots of local breeders though.
