The time change is THIS weekend, between the 8th and 9th.  The auction is on the 16th.

Too many fish?  Never.  Not enough tanks?  Always!

I think Jeffs wife was checking in bags at  the last auction, so his bag estimate is way more accuarate than mine. I was just a spectator.
And he's right about the prices too, I believe Gene got my last 4" Geo altifrons for not much over $5.
It may still be light when you leave Chris,  so you should be OK, but just in case, we'll get Walter to walk you out with his bowling ball bag.

Or as ReptileJK once told me: No, Nuthman, these men are nihilists. There's nothing to be afraid of.

Just buy enough fish that you can through the bags at anyone who gives you a hard time  ;)

Thanks Duane.  I miss understood Chris' question!  The last auction had about 550 fish give or take 10-15 bags.  Thankfully there will be two auctoneers this time instaed of one!

As Duane said if you are looking for rare livebears for a steal this is the place.  In the past hard to find livebearers have sold in the $5-10 a trio range.  These are fish that should be $20-25 a bag on a bad day!  But there just aren't to many people looking for them at the auction.  The rest of the fish offered sell at a "normal" (what ever THAT means) price.

Chris,

I assume you are asking about the swap?

I would guess 12-15 vendors and 20ish tables.  150 or so people through the door.  It's growing steadily though, as are mailing list has almost doubled in the past year.

There's a nice mix of everything at the swap, not unlike the GCCA-but again just smaller.  Off the top of my head I remember a plant specialist (same guy that's at the GCCA swap), an angelfish breeder, a livebearer guy, a dwarf cichlid guy, 2 or 3 Malawi guys, and a bunch of mixed fish tables.  Not too mention a large selection of used tanks, stands, and filters.  Oh, and a huge seection of driftwood  ;D

Like the auction, MAS is looking to move to a larger facility in the fall.  Easier to get to if yu haven't been there before, easier access from the parking lot to the room-direct instead of down a hall-,and a huge parking lot.  We've been at the current place (Burnham Bowl) on and off since the 60's!  But it's time to find a bigger and newer place.  What we are eyeing up is in New Berlin, WI right between I-43 and I-94 so it should be VERY easy to find.

But remember, both the Spring Auction and Spring Swap are at Burnham Bowl.
