Not a lot up in the northern chicago area land. For stores, Aquarium Adventure in hoffman estates is probably the better selection but higher retail prices. Sho tank in mundelein is decent for salt water but horrible on their fresh water side.

Justin at www.datzcichlids.com/ has some great african stock if you are looking for them or food.

Also a lot of other good breeders in the area if you know what you are looking for and put up a post on the classified section!

We have a store in Lombard and carry a big selection of cichlids as well as community fish and salt water as well.
We are Tropiquatics located on 337 south Main St in Lombard

We aren't exactly a fish store, but have been told many times we are better than them! Come check us out on Algonquin (rt62) and Rt 25!
