I don't think anything is wrong with the thread.  Just a difference of opinions being expressed.  I think it shoud stay.  Besides,  the cat is out of the bag so to speak already.

You gotta be kidding?  You support ripping off your boss?  It's not the fact that it's Petsmart.....IT'S HIS EMPLOYER.  It is WRONG WRONG WRONG to do that to your employer. It's theft. You work at Aquarioum Adventure in Bolingbrook right? You sure as heck better hope that anyone who works with you and is in to fish that might be a user of this site doesn't see this and point this out to your boss.  Nothing like putting in black and white that you are a thief.

i support ripping off petsmart any day man.  congrats on the price, because those are some of the worst prices ive ever seen  for these light fixtures, our fixtures are about 30$ cheaper than urs (any of them).

any chance they still got some there mis marked?  cuz i wouldnt mind getting a 90% sale.

girl picked up at bar:  oh wow u have alot of fishies in here, arent they supposed to be gold, like goldfish...  why arent these ones gold, oh that one is so ugly, why would u have more than one tank....  (she carried on for about 10 mins).

me:  please get out of my house.

I would defently give a member his $20 back if it was stuck together.

RM-solvwe...Yeah i planned on putting them on a timer or the power strip idea. I was just thinking about plugging a power strip into a timer.

Sawboy...I knew the price had to be wrong but i didnt know how much they where at that time. Lately we have had alot of items that are the same item for different prices. I dont know why but we have, and the prices have been totally different. I have noticed that alot lately. So idk if they where meant for that price or not.

But it is not like i am buying them and then going out and selling them for a profit. Like other people may. I am using them for myself.

But it was more of a impulse buy, something you saw and knew you had to buy it right then and there. So i did!

As far as the on off witch those high powered lights are usually meant to be ran on a timer. One thing you can do, is what I do on some of my tanks is run them all into a powerstrip. When you turn the strip off the lights go off, when you turn the strip on, the lights go on.

I love getting deals at store, or online store mistakes. I would for sure give back the 20 if they stuck. I hope someone else would do the same.

I will say up front that I am THE VERY FIRST person to try and take advantage of any big box store for being stupid.  I will go out of my way to twist,  spin and dupe the sales person into believing the BS coming out fo my mouth in an effor to get the best deal possible.  For that matter if a guy on the street or on a craigslist / ebay ad doesn't know what he has,  I will lowball the snot out of him and laugh my **** off and tell all my friends about it to boot! I once bought a 77 Chevy Station Wagon from a guy for $25 back in 1993.  Guy said it needed a trans.  I drove it around the corner,  poured in 3qts of ATF and drove that car all winter and sold it for $250 in the spring.  But what you did is different.

The fact is you did steal from the person that employs you.  There is a level of trust that exists between employer and employee. You knew the honest price and neglected to make it right.  In any other situation I would be applauding you.  But I am old school.  You don't bite the hand that feeds you.  You did steal it. Call it what you want,  but you stole it.

Here is a test.  Someone in the club agrees to sell you some fish for $35.  You hand him a single $100 bill.  The guy hands you your change back.  Instead of $65,  you get back $85,  because two 20's are stuck together.  Would you tell him and give him the $20 back?

Yeah I see your point. But I don’t make the price tags or anything. So I didn’t make a cheap fake one to get it for a great deal. My manager was their when I bought it; she and I were talking about the lights. So she as their when I paid for them and didn’t say anything about it. So I didn’t steal it, I have a valid receipt that shows I bought them and shows the same number that the package says. It was in the system. But from my understanding we have a lot of the lights like the ones I bought sitting around some where in the store because they weren’t big sellers.  But yes I can see what you mean by thinking I am a thief.  But the manager was present when I bought them. So I don’t see anything wrong with that. But i guess we all have ourown opinins on this,

FYI i dont follow politics... i could care less about them at the moment. I didnt even plan to register to vote but i did and have no idea who im going to vote for.
