I don't think my fish get full growth rate since I mostly keep them in communitys but this guy at 3 years old is visibly smaller looking than my Barred Citranellum of equal age.

From Mack, that's interesting.

I hope he wasn't thinking we were questioning it as a hybrid, just getting details on the point of origin, introduction.

I thought the same. I sent a pm to him and another guy who has had him as a speaker many times emailed him. It was the other guy who he responded to. I was gonna call him and probably should have.

I wouldn't be surprised if these came out of Arenal. The only other place in Costa Rica that would have them in a decent density is the San Juan River (Technically Nicaragua owns all of it, but it's the border). Here though, they look like a standard barred midas.

I have a confession. I'm a cichlaholic.

The reason I ask is that I recall a pic with a large Amphilophus adult in his hand, I wonder if it was a CRRF

Was he the original source of these?  Sounds familiar.

I want to say yes, but really don't know. The list had listed them as F1 I do believe. Maybe I will shoot Ken a pm and see if he remembers. Tho I will feel kind of silly asking him a question about fish he had in 2008 lol.
