Finding an O ring shouldn't be hard. Aquarium adventure in Hoffman estates carries some miscellaneous parts. Also call the manufacturer they'll gladly ship you any parts needed. Marine-land has shipped me parts before with no problem.

arugh. I read somewhere it was the O ring that was the culprit.

Oh well. Guess I'll stick with buying them brand new instead of used from now on. And try to locate a O ring for the dang filter. Thanks Mike!

if it is leaking from the spot where the lid and the base join, it is probably the "o" ring.

They dry out, or can get nicked.

Consider buying a new one.

Otherwise, I have no idea.

Hi guys:

am totally frustrated at  my Eheim pro II 2028 series canister filter. I hooked it up this morning after a year long break as i forgot the reason why I didn't use it and was suddenly reminded why. It kept leaking on and off. sometimes when I adjust the postition, itll not leak then when I move it to a certain location it'll leak.

I'm not good at fixing things as I do end up breaking more than what I try to fix so was wondering who would fix a canister filter? I also got a fluval 303 that stopped working as I also can't find the hoses for but would like to use it again in one of my tanks and switch out the HOBS.

any ideas which store/person would try to fix them as I do  not want to deal with few months/weeks of sending it in to eheim place.
