- Can I Turn A 2 bulb GLO T5 into a 1 bulb Fixture?
Can I Turn A 2 bulb GLO T5 into a 1 bulb Fixture?
Why go thru all that? With the UV, it ain't necessary. Or sell it to a saltwater or Tropheus keeper. You'll sell it for more than enough to cover the cost of a new light. Way too much effort with re-wiring etc.
there ya go, if you have a UV coming be PATIENT!, and just leave the lights off for a bit
thats the plan then i will run dark till i get the sterilizer and then run limited lighting on top of that, like stated before, they do not need the light. The light is for my benefit
Thanks Guys!

Good point to wait till i install the sterilizer and then see where to go form there
but it takes the fun out of "fixing" it

while Klassic is correct in most circumstances it sounds as if this unit since it's t-5 and lower wattage usage that they used only 1 circuit and daisy chained the two together, have to remeber that electricity needs to make a complete loop back to itself and what they did with this unit was take 1 wire from the ballast and start at 1 end of the bulb and then flowed it to the other before it comes back to where it started to complete the loop. to counter this it can be done 1 of 2 different ways, you can either open the fixture up and rewire it so the power gets split between the 2 bulbs or if you really want to get creative you can mimmick the 2nd bulb by getting some 14 gage solid wire and stripping off the ends just enough to fit into the sockets(just make darn sure the unit is unplugged first before trying this)
I wanted to try the wire but don't want to blow it up.......
think i will open whole fixture and wire up to be individual
thanks
