I have made stands before, but nothing this big.  I have some 2x4s and I have the equipment too.  I don't have the exact # of 2x4s/screws that I need to finish it up, but I could get started.

if you go pre made look for a used stand.  The price for new are jsut outragous, and used stand in good condition are going for pretty prices.

That depends on what kind of stand you want (2x4, cabinet, cement block, angle iron, etc.) as well as what tools you have to make the stand.

agreed, also adding a bit of knowledge to the mix always helps also

Too many fish?  Never.  Not enough tanks?  Always!

If I am getting a 125 gallon aquarium would it still be cheaper to build my own stand, or should I just go out and buy one from a store?
