Broken Center Brace

Thanks for the responses. I definitely am interested in how you did yours Kegger. And no I have no interest in ever doing a push up again. In the meantime, I resealed the brace and pinned in with screws on either side of the crack. No bend as far as I can tell but it's only been a few hours. Thanks for the suggesttion Ray. Jeff, the tank is a Perfecto I believe from 1990. It was my first and only tank I ever bought retail. Kali, You don't need to worry about your brace. I too like Nuth was a moron and snapped mine by leaning on it.

Trust me a Nuth could do a pushup on this thing. Assuming that Nuth can do a pushup.

Are you questioning the strength of the brace or the ability to do a push up.  I think i'd struggle with the latter. ;D

Kali~

When I broke the brace on my 55, it was because I was a dumb **** and put my considerable weight on it, snap!  :o

It will hold you glass tops (that all I use, I will not use plastic) and Lights with no problem at all.

I Use plastic light difusetr pannels on almost all my tanks. i have glass tops on  3 tanks of my 32 running tanks.

I suggested drilling the center brace as an option if replacing the top was not an option. I have replaced a few tops and some were easier than others.  I am considering drilling my center brace on my 75 before I give it to my cousin for a turtle tank.  That tank has about 8-9 inches of water in it now and there is no noticable bowing. There would only be about 8-10 inches of water in it as a tutrle tank as well so mending the center brace would be an addition fix that isnt needed.
