question about the composite wood stand for my 125?

it might not be done yet but it has some drawings for ya

So I guess I will have to put some 2x4's to make sure it will be good. Anyone have any ideas on how I shall do that? I think just putting them up against the existing four corners should do it, correct me if I am wrong. Pics will help me easily picture this. I plan on taking pics of the stand so that you guys get a better idea of what I am talking about in terms of warping and exactly how the stand looks from the inside.

I can't believe they make aquarium stands out of materials that don't hold up to, um, WATER.

Yeah, they treat the outside of them and they typically work fine, but get some water on the interior of the stand and it's warp city.  I haven't heard of stands deteriorating but they seemed flawed to me.  I would shore it up with 2 x 4's so you can sleep at night. 

As for the outside and refacing the stand - keep in mind that what you put on there will get wet and be in probable damp conditions.

I think any 125 stand would look good to you right now ;D

I'll post some pics once I get home tonight. I would like to change the color of it though if I am going to use it, maybe to black. What's better to do, paint it or buy a black glue laminate. I was thinking about spray painting it. Or if can find a black sticker or laminate that would be great. Anybody know of any such thing? What other things have people done to their tank and stand to make it look different?

So, no one has any bad experiences with a composite wood stand? Don't they seem weaker than real wood?
