Can anyone provide the name of the seller/distributor so that no one else potentially buys from them and has to deal with this?

I know I lost every single fish in the tank I put them in. I will never buy fish from there again.

There is a bizarre love affair some have with this guy in florida. Some people are real star fuckers. No matter how many times folks get burned, they still go back. It is known that he ships sick fish, an I think it is systemic at his farm. We received a few sick ones the first time, a few years ago, but it was minor by comparison.

lymph is like ich - it is never really gone. if the fish get stressed again - ***pop*** here comes the lymph.

Spike the fish, bleach the tank and equipment and buy the fish from a reputable breeder.

Same here, lost all the fish I got from that auction, save for a few Kraussi and Bocourti.

I don't remember exactly what dose I used but I'm sure you are going way heavier than I did Jimmy. I tend to measure things in handfulls rather than actual cups. If I had to guess my 40br probably got something in the ball park 1 1/2 cups(3 handfulls.
In my case I found one fish that was way too far gone to be saved and a few others that had just the beginning stages. The one fish was euthanised and the others recovered with the salt/heat treatment.

Bruce, I bought the same fish you did at the same meeting, from the same seller. Lost every one of them to the same thing Jimmy's fish are afflicted with. Pretty sure that makes three of us. Time to scratch that seller off my list.

Looks like lymphocystis. It's a pretty nasty viral infection that causes cysts that look granular on the body. It can be pretty contagious and is not fun to deal with. I don't want to drop names, but there is a particular fish farm in Florida where people have consistently gotten fish with the infection.

Really only way to cure it as it is viral is to let it run its course and make sure the fish is as unstressed as possible. You also want to do whatever you can to keep the fish from getting a secondary infection. Best thing you can do is isolate anything infected and make sure that you bleach/sterilize any thing that you use to do aquarium maintenance on those tanks before using them on a healthy tank. Not fun to deal with, best of luck treating it.

I have a confession. I'm a cichlaholic.

i was reading between 3-6 tablespoons per 5 gallons in not unreasonable.

so with my 40 gallon each 5 gallons gets 1/2c salt. luckly im a chef and can do this tablespoon cup and gallon thing. so im going with 4 cups to 5 cups in my 40, heat up to 85 degrees.

Bruce, what is heavy for the salt? I have tried up to 2 cups of salt in a 30 gallon tank.... not helping....
