Most of the Lake Victorian cichlids we have in the hobby were called Haplochromis back in the late 80's and early 90's when they first started being exported. The same thing is true for many of the more open water/sand cichlids (not the Mbuna-rock oriented fish). Most of them were Haplochromis before taxonomists started working on classifying the different fish into different groups with common traits.
Are you looking to be involved or commited
A Pig and a Chicken are walking down the road. The Chicken says, "Pig, I was thinking we should open a restaurant!". Pig replies, "What would we call it?". The Chicken responds, "How about ham-n-eggs?" The Pig thinks for a moment and says, No thanks. I'd be committed, but you'd only be involved.
Luv that BAP auction!
I got a couple bags of "Pundamilia Crimson Reds" at last auction. Then while checking the fry out on the net, I think I found a name change. Were they (until recently) called "Haplochromis Crimson Red"? If so then I've had this pretty little fish before.
Anyone aware of this? Thanks. Steve
