I'll will have to say since going to two the price per bag has been very high, great for the club and sellers, also going Cichled only or five bag max non-cichlid has helped the ending time to be around 7:00 pm instead of 11:00pm or latter. As someone once said it's a neccessery evil. So with all that said I hope we have alot more volunteers on the 27th

don since the large amount of support at the last auction do you think we could revisit the 3 auctions per year?

Jan, May, Nov?

You'll need to watch the Coen Brothers movie the "Big Lewbowski", and report back after you get the toe reference.
And it was actually my 2 buddies and I, lifting our cheeks at the auction after those veggie sandwiches, we needed a some way to try and thin out the crowd, but you GCCA guys are a hardy bunch, only a few ran for the door.
And...I agree about some of the lack of courtesy, I hate driving a couple hours with fish, only to be left holding the bag etc.

I actually prefer more auctions. The good thing about auctions is that whatever happens - the fish are gone.

With a swap meet - you can get stuck with the fish at the end of the day.

Come late to a swap meet - you'll walk out with a TON of fish.

Either way:

The simple thing is, the member ship has spoken. They like swaps more than auctions. All the other reasons, or assumptions, are hooey.

Its been brought up time and again at meetings. Our local membership prefers swaps. Give the people what they want!

having said that, if you want to fill coolers - come late to a swap. There ar emany bags of very reasonable fish and most of us would rather take a little less than bring them home.

I was just talking about the problem of being unable to book far in advance. I won't stay at a fleabag myself. For an auction or swap where nobody stays the night the fleabag is like half the price of the Sheraton or Holiday Inn. I'm too cheap to stay the night at either of them. I find the closest Motel-6. Last years Classic I stayed at the Motel-6 that was attached to the parking lot of the hotel that the Classic was at, 2 nights for the price of one in the fancier hotel. When an event is at the Sheraton I stay at one on the other side of the highway. Clean room, I'm only there to sleep anyway.

I can get you a toe by 3:00 today.
I think Mike was in on the conspiracy, I was sitting next to him, each time a fish came close, that he wanted, he would lift a cheek, and all was still.
