Ophthalmotilapia boops

if those are the boops you got from, they have really matured nicely.

Sand really matters.  When Aaron picked them up, they were 2.5, maybe 3" TOPS and absolutely silver.  They have really colored and grown up nicely.  remind me - how long have you had them>?

I got them Late February.  When they were getting established more males got dark(no blue spotting). Now one male has established dominance and there is a larger male furcifer in the tank none of the other male boops are showing their full potential.  I think if I move the furcifer out I might get a second male to color up fully.  The furcifer will probably appreciate that as well.  That male boops is probably not much bigger than 3".  The other bonus is the boops color sticks around where the furcifer turn it on and off with the blink of an eye.

Thanks!  There are 10 boops in the tank.  The male pictured doesn't let any other males color up or go anywhere on his half of the 7' tank.  There are at least 3 males, probably more.  I've seen two lady fish holding eggs, but the next day they were gone.  They are at the very beginning of their breeding so it makes sense that they aren't good at holding yet.

Still need to get the video up, but i need to find my camera first.  Last night I saw the male forcing another female over to his spawning zone and she was holding.  I guess we'll see how long that lasts.

I need to upload the spawning video, but she spit the next day.  I am pretty sure that was the first breeding action from this group of boops, I am hoping they'll get better with time.
