Which shells do you “Shellie Keepers” order? Which ones work best?

I order - Whale eyes, Shark eyes, and barnacles oh my

I like an assortment and let the fish decide which they like best.

Not checked for facts.

Most of us shellie keepers order our shells from shellhorizons.com. The drawback is they have a minimum order and shipping comes to about $25 after meeting the minimum dollar because of the crazy amount of shells you have to buy to meet the minimum.

Are there any Woodman's Grocery Store down there?  You can get them up here (Green Bay Area) in Appleton in the dry Seafood aisle at Woodman's.  I think you get 12-13 plus the snail for about $7.50...

There’s a Woodman’s in Kenosha. I don’t really want the sails but I’ll check it out the next time I’m up that way.

Guys,

Check out www.gelstuff.com . They don't carry escargot shells but they do have other shells that aren't expensive and there's no minimum charge.

Skip...

Thanks for the website.

Valli produce also carries escargot shells(minus the snails mind you) for $8-10 per dozen as well............

The next time I go to Aquarium Adventure I’ll check it out.

Does anyone know of a place in NE IL or SE WI that sells them? I’ve been using them for years and they work great but the place I was getting them from stopped selling them. I called a few Gourmet places but no one sells them or if they did you have to buy the snails. I did find them online but the shipping is ridiculous.
