down in florida they got freshwater snails as huge as grapefruit- makes me regret throwing out my shells


next time Ill keep in mind for shellie folks the next time i'm on vacation out in florida

I was thinking it could be used in some sort of frozen fish food mix. Just add it to the fish food recipe in the how to section of the gcca site.

So I went to woodmans in Carpentersville, IL and they do have escargot shells, but they come with a can of escargot....ewwwww


Maybe you can chop up the escargot and feed to your fish.

I tried the shells from michaels, and I didnt like the shells. Part of fish keeping is aesthetics.

Anyone ever buy their shells at Michaels, the craft store? They sell a small bag of about 12-15 shells that are perfect for shell dwellers. I bet you'll ask, "How much?" Only $2.99. The best part is that you don't have to pay any shipping and you don't have to wait. Of course, there is a limited assortment.
By the way, I checked out that website shellhorizons.com and have to admit they have a wonderful assortment, but the order quantities are significant ($50 min.) and you have to pay shipping too. Still, it is worth looking into if you're planning on buying a large number of shells. They have some very unusual, very cool shells.
