My Cyno. sp. hara get along with pretty much anything.  They will be more concerned with themselves more times than not.

A species I would look into for a 55 is Cynotilapia sp. hara 'Gallireya Reef' (aka white top hara, blue reef, etc.).  They are great fish to have.

yes and no.

Many species are good holders and will raise fry in their mouths and release into the tank when they are ready. Some don't hold well and spit early losing an entire batch of fry.

For those of us who own many tnaks with the intent of keeping species to breed and raising their fry we either choose to place a holding female in a breeding trap to allow the female to hold and release on her own. Some of us take the females and strip them in order to raise the fry for BAP and or resale.

oh I see okay gotcha good thing I got nervous that maybe now I had to "strip' fry from mom fish and I have no idea how to do that

One of my favorite Malawi combos is a colony of Yellow Labs and a colony of Yellow tail/ purple acei. Great colors and it is a very active, yet peaceful tank.

Sam

Ditto ..just stripped my Acei ( Ngara) for the third time- 33 fry and in a community tank......Wilpir ;D

dont the fish just release the young on their own you have to remove them from parents ?
