It works a little better when I do, but I usually just dump it in the tank.

A little goes a long way.

You had told me about the Cyclop-eeze.  I'm hoping my LFS gets some in this week.  I will also check out Jhemco.

Do you soak the freeze dried before feeding?

Decapping your own is a PITA.  Jehmco.com sells it in bulk.  I am a fan.

I really like freeze dried cyclops eeze and freeze dried copepods better.

Haven't really tried the eggs yet.  They are hammering Rotifers, so I will feed them this few a little while longer.  The rotifers only have about 4% protein though....

I am feeding decapsulated brine shrimp to my fry right now - and I can definitely notice more orange waste at the bottom of the fry net than I was getting with crushed spirulina flake.

Seems like a lot of prep. work.

Is frozen BB a easier alternative?

I have the eggs and will try the method Ray linked, but don't see the wife liking a glass of fish food in the fridge...

from what i got from the question Muske posed was he has eggs, how does he decapsulate them.

I used to buy decapsulated BS, but them started hatching my own daily.

I cant find the article right now but there was a report on how well decaps were for food. It came down to Decaps not breaking down as well in the fish's stomach. there were no negative effects other than a lot more waste.

If you put the decaps in water for a couple minutes before putting into your tank it seems to get to the bottom a lot better. If you have fish that feed off the surface then I would just put it in the tank and let it float then sink when it gets water logged.

If you use decaps I would recomend water changes more often than before using them. like is aid the food dont break down as well in there stomach so you will have more waste in your tank.

Got some brine shrimp eggs for fry food.  I have heard of de-cap brine as a good food source for growing fry.

My question is how to prepare it?
