Sweet Sunshine. Great picture. Deviant Art has some problems, but its generally still a good site. I think I still have an account there.

Peacocks and mbuna can be done with the right species/individuals. Yellow/white labs, acei, and quite a few others will mix well with peacocks.

If you are not looking to breed and are looking for color you can do an all male Peacock/Hap tank with a couple of mbuna mixed in. Peacocks will look good even without the females around. Some mbuna do tend to look better when the ladies are around but thats not a rule.

I would not go with the red zebra's as they tend to be a lot more aggressive, but like I said labs and acei are good choices.

If you could post a pic of the tank that would be fabulous. We would be able to gauge your set-up from there and make suggestions. Also what kind of filtration do you run on this tank?

lot of different variables you could do here, if I may ask first, which way do you really want to go with the tank?

mbuna
peacock
mix of both with peace or a mix with both that can get a bit(possibly more than a bit) agressive

also could you tell us a bit more about rockwork, plants, filtration

The acei you can sell on the classifieds, or post on the classifieds that you are looking for more.

I am not a fan of mixing mbuna and peacocks, and I don't know enough about peacocks to answer part of the question.

White labs are obtainable from a few members of the club. Come to the swap to get some or check the classifieds. Be aware that the white labs will breed with the yellow labs.

Before I start here is the info: 55 gal tank with lots of rocks
4 yellow labs (1 male 3 female...but not 100% sure)
3 sunshine peacocks (1 male 2 female)
4 pseudotropheus acei (3 male 1 very harassed female)
1 rainbow shark (he's so fat..) ;D
1 alge eater of some kind...

Soo... some months ago I ended up getting demasoni for my tank but they all died...  ???(just the demasoni..a mystery...) the other fish are healthy and even spawning. I have ONE baby fish that survived so far so it seems that things in the tank have finally settled. I don't plan on breeding fish though so the more babies they eat the better for me I guess.

I have two problems I want to solve, 1. add more color to the tank  2. get another female acei ...or get rid of the female

1. I want to add color so I was thinking...  I can get white labs and Pseudotropheus sp.red zebra "cherry red' (if I can find someone that sells these)... my backup idea is to get some peacocks ...maybe albino eureka red or OB peacocks  will any of these work? Someone even suggested throwing in there a red empress male. I'm open for anything... I just want as much color as possible since I only have purple, yellow, and brown so far. I'm planing on getting fish at the Nov. 30 swap.

2. What should I do about the acei female... she seems fine... ignores the males all the time while they all show off. I kinda like having her around because the males look better when they are around her. :)

I can't breed fish... but I can paint them ^_^
