Breeding phenos and dolphins together?

5 years 3 months ago #35545 by mikeg2929
Folks once talked about the SMRS.

Same mate recognition system

If the fish looked even reasonably similar, dont keep them together for breeding purposes. Both are big, blue "haps". The dominant male will likely try and breed with anything and more than likely will try and break up other breeding situations.

I do not believe that they will cross breed, however, the phenos are really docile and for best results I would not mix in any other species with them. Hope this helps.

If I have starfire's and moori dolphins, in the same tank, will they crossbreed, or will the Dolphins be to aggressive for the starfires. Just trying to save tank space, I have a reverse trio of Dolphins, and 2 pair of starfires.

Thanks
