To be honest I'd hold off on the med's at this point. There doesn't seem to be any indication of parasites. If I was going to do anything it would be Epsom salt to get the fish to go poo as bloat can affect the swim ability if too much pressure on the swim bladder. You have a lot of discus in the 55 and gravel that needs to be cleaned daily of food-fish waste debris which in turn will affect water quality negatively. If you have never kept a bare bottom tank you will not understand how much debris stays in the gravel that you do not see because of the gravel.

Thanks for the help. I have already stepped up the water changes. Also adding some Paraguard in case there is anything lingering that the water changes haven't corrected or eliminated.

Thanks again!

While 40% is more than enough for most fish, Discus need much more. In my 75's I do 80% each day of aged tap water. While it can be done with plants and gravel it is not recommended for most. It is too hard to keep water quality optimal for both as you are finding out. I keep my plants In clay pots with bare bottom tank as my Discus are the priority. I keep 2- 75's both with Discus one has a pair the other 5 subadults I do 80% daily. At a minimum you need 60% every other day. Set up a regime of 40% per day see what happens. This first Discus is telling you that more will tell you the same if you keep going as you are.

I have 9 small to medium sized Discus in a 55 gal tank. 4 for about 4 months and 5 for about a month.
About 3 weeks ago one of the Turquoise Blush Discus looked like he/she had a larger than normal belly. This got worse, then the eyes started to look bulgy. Finally the fish started to have swimming difficulty, unable to maintain an upright position.
Death looked inevitable, so I took the fish out of the tank, in case it was something contagious.
Now another one seems to be developing the same thing.
Does anyone have any insight as to what is happening here?
