Everyone is Spawning!

Went to a first time LFS over the weekend and saw some Guinacara, but they were the Gaeyi subspecies and I have Guinacara Spenozona, I was tempted to get them but I didn't for two reasons, first, there were only 4, if there had been 5 or 6 maybe; and secondly I don't want to have to set up another tank right now for them. But who knows what the future holds!!!

Great fish I had them about 15 years ago, i had a pair of spawning females for a while, they were uncommon then so I put them in the auction knowing finding a male was unlikely, there was a big lone male in the same auction I was quite amazed/aggravated at the same time.......one cool thing about them they have green eggs...

Actually got a few from 'Tiedyeman', the guy who originally posted this topic, he's located in So. Bend, IN and shipped them overnight for $20.

Just saw the post about the Guinacara Spenozona spawning last July, do you have any available or know anyone who does?

And  I  was lucky  enough to  see that  GCCA  ad    and  buy  some  of the  Krobia's!  Thanks  a  ton  Bruce  fish  arrived in  excellant  shape

Maybe I should  try the  old style      add  water from a tank  that the  fish are spawning in  to  stimulate  spawns    trick
  LOL
I  have hada  few  spawns  recently too ,    however  for  some  reason  the  T mixteco golds (  both pairs)  have  not  allowed the  eggs  to  hatch
Good luck to ya  on  find  space for  all  your fry    Bruce.....I have  a  recent  spawn of  T  ellioti  in a  5  gallon  bucket...  i  can  relate  with  what  you're  going thru

Gonna set  up a couple more tanks to raise the fry, but I am running out of room. Just got a group of pevicachromis teniatus (Lokundge) fry and a group of Nannacara Anomola fry. Can't wait to see these beauties as adults. Still looking for Aequidens Diadema and Archocentrus Spinosimmus. Hope the Aequidens Patricki spawn soon. I have a pair of wc adults...very skittish. They have eaten every dither fish i put in their tank :)

Sounds like you're going to need some more room.

No, I'm not very good at picture taking, but they are stunning. I have some fat little 3 month old fry for sale on the GCCA trading post site.

I am loving this!

The Austroloheros Oblongum have about 500 free swimmers. The Red Ceibal have a clutch hidden on a piece of driftwood. My huge pair of Andinocara Latifrons are spawning as I write this and yesterday the Guinacara Sphenozona spawned (I was surprised). The Laetacara Dorsigera have free swimmers (such tiny babies) and the kribs all have eggs, the cutteri have wrigglers and the Krobia sp. Xinguensis are acting like they are staring to think about yet another brood.

Nothing like having 16 zillion fry to raise all at the same time!  :D  I am not complaining...this is why I love this hobby so much!
