Here's an interesting article in the July Cichlid News in which Konings thinks that the true Pseudotropheus elegans may in fact be what we see in the hobby as Pseudo. sp. "acei". Although you should not start calling your Pseudo. sp. "acei" as this was not published in a peer reviewed scientific journal, a change should be expected. Pseudotropheus elegans, described by Trewavas in 1935 has been considered a synonym of Pseudotropheus livingstonii for a long time.
