Diverging species of fish

Very interesting article. That's a problem with taxonomy, it's a man made classification and you can't stop evolution.

On my research trip to Costa Rica I snorkeled the pacific at one spot and saw a few damsels, one of which sticks out as it looked almost exactly like a Mesonauta.

Even though they are salt water fish, it still applies to our cichlids.  Damselfish are closely related to cichlids.
