Belize was one of the easier collecting trips, meeki were the most common fish, "they are the cutteri of honduras in belize", makes sense? a few of the spilurum females are starting to get ready, I have a bunch of the (very slow growing) Coatepeque growing out, still working on the Ilopango "convicts"....

Awesome Pics Sam! Looks like a great trip. I need to go to Belize and collect some samples for my research at some point. That Cryptoheros is very interesting looking. Most likely C. chetumalensis given the geography but sure is high bodied and reminds me a lot of C. spilurus.

I'd love to get some of the convict fry from the ones you collected you at some point to add to the lab for my research. Hopefully I'll have some A. spinosissimus to trade you after this summer.

I have a confession. I'm a cichlaholic.

Hi Scott, the fish in pics 16 and 26 are a. robertsoni, the pic did not show the blue, as for splendida I only caught/saw the green variety same when i went to peten guatemala, I heard that the red ones are found where there are lillys, mimicing the new leaves....there where lilys in crooked tree but i guess not enough?
