The female did all the work and moved the "head and tails" to a pit near the divider that she spent all day Thursday digging.  Then the male went "devil" on her, chasing her all over his side of the divider, chasing her back to her side.  He planted himself near the divider opening and just over the fry pit, staring her down, daring her to try and pass through the opening.  I have a handful of chancho juvies in the tank and he started to pay more attention to her and less attention to the chanchos.  Figuring the fry would start getting picked off, I siphoned the nest to a 10g fry tank.  Maybe 200 or so.  Couple of drops of meth blue, hopefully swimmers in the next couple days.

Thanks, yes, probably same generation.  Aren't they unique looking? Its really different for me, I've never had a white fish in my tanks.

Yes they are. I had gotten 3 white xiloas and fell in love with them so I had Jeff send 4 labiatus from the wild caught white labiatus when they spawned. Way better looking in person than pics. Very unique.

Nice Score Scott! Those are probably siblings to my 2 pairs (same size).

Very nice devils! I hate to sound like a broken record Scott, but I could use a sample. I don't have a sample of A. labiatus yet.

I have a confession. I'm a cichlaholic.

Very nice.  How big are they?  How long do you think before you get those guys breeding?

Hi Aaron-Thanks!

Male is about 6" the female maybe 4".  They'll probably go again in about 15 days.  Albert has a whole tank of fry from this pair.
