Update on the Tuba: They are now about 2.5" long and look like mini copies of the adults. They are super fast and cruise with ease through their tank with a few sponge filters and an airstone ripping.

Nice update.

How are you liking the Rhytisma? Having any luck with pairing? I have 4. I think 3 males and 1 female. I split them up. I put what I believe is the female and 1 male together in 1 Astatheros community and put the other 2 males in the other Asta community and the alpha just chases the other. He doesn't hurt it but forces it to hide under the filter.

Due to popular demand:

Taken on March 2, 2011

They've grown a lot. Although they are only .75" long, they are quite chunky. The pattern has changed a bit. They are still cute.

Sam, maybe at the first of each month, we can trouble you to post current shots of the tuba fry?  Given how distinctive they look from the get-go, it would be interesting to see their development each month.

Sam - well done.  Really distinctive looking fish at such a small size.
