Here is an update on these beauties.
When I first got them they were all wild colors, just like one below:

If I didn't know that they are going to change colors, I would for sure think that there is something wrong when they were

at this stage:

At this stage they were really cool. I wish they stayed like this:

[img][IMG]http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh574/madeto11/Ampholophus%20Sagittae/AmpholophusSagittae22JPG.jpg]][/img]

Then they completly "cleared" and turn into light orange colors. Whoever saw them at this stage tough that I have 150 full of gold fish:

Latest is those white patches and then I guess they will look like their parents in Scotts pictures:

So I say to her……There is plenty of stuff at the house for the baby to eat!!!! I REALLY need this fish……

Congrats and good luck with them. I'm glad you found this thread. I do it for selfish reasons to document/blog my experiences, but I'm glad others can use it for reference as well. Keep us updated on yours - I bet you have breeding by next Thanksgiving.

Scott,
I got those fry on Sundays meeting auction and was looking for more info, when I came across this topic. Everything is already here, including pictures at different stages, pictures of parents etc, so I wasn't even searching anything else. Thanks for all the updates.

I sold my breeding trio at last week's auction but will be bringing a bag of 8 nice sized fry, almost an inch, as a BAP submission for tonight's meeting. You folks interested in Old World species may want to to give these a go - very colorful and decent tank citizens -I was surprised as to how tolerant my group was with each other until a pair formed months later.

Scotty -

Sorry for the loss of the female, but a 75 full of swimmers and fry, means you will have plenty more.

Hmmmm....All I have left is the Grammode....(A beaut BTW, TY!)

The cool looking female was kilt by the male.  Still have a trio and a whole 75g of fry growing out.

They're spawning right now.  Here's a quick video.

Aaron, now that I look back at some old pictures, it appears that is the case, the nuchal hump came about for both the males and females when breeding.  Good luck with those.
