Sell the champs and rostratus?!?!?! How about the fronts? In all reality you have time before the dovii needs one of those tanks all to himself. Maybe get another big tank like a 180, build a dual stand and put the 125 under it.

It would be a thing of beauty....

a fish that as previously mentioned is a wet-pet

I find that Parachromis and Amphiliphous are best suited as wet-pets, they respond to your interaction well.

Bob~

Excellent Idea, I had a female in a 150 (6') and it was awesome! I think your well on the way. The Parachromis is IMHO the most underestimated as to growth, next to Oscars and Red Devils (Amphiliphous). You would be giving him a nice swimming area, and nice depth, what is the width of the 7'?

Great Idea!

They grow relatively quickly to and live for ever. Truly a wet pet. Pam Chin has golf balls in with hers and it moves them and "plays" with them. Very smart fish. Look to getting some F1's soon.

I have a confession. I'm a cichlaholic.

Kinda what I was thinking Scott.  And my 220 is actually an older oceanic 210. So it's a 7' tank which obviously allows more room. And yeah guys,  he'd be alone. I would never risk another fish to a big Dovii. Matter of fact, I wouldn't risk a German Shepherd to a full grown Dovii!!  At any rate, I have my dovii from the members only auction last year and one of them is really a nice looking fish so it got me thinking.........  Imagine an 18-20" Dovii cruising 7' of water. Hmmmmmmm

220 for one dovii is the way to go.  In order to raise this animal to its natural size, it needs the most space one could provide.  You could end up with the area's premier show fish for a decade.
