Thanks Sawboy. What does a typical meeting consist of? How long do they last? If I were to become a full member, What are the benefits? I know alot of the guys breed. I am into show tanks basically. At one point I may decide to give breeding a try. I have been able to find alot of nice fish and everyone I have met so far seem like good guys. I guess I answered my own question.

Here is a link to the summary of our club and the benefits of membership:

www.gcca.net/about.htm

The mtg is structured whereby club business is attended to during the first half, led by the President, with officers and committees reporting.  There is a break and the second half is devoted to the speaker of the month.  There is a monthly bowl show based on specific classes, species, and there is a raffle for fish-related goods, and then a Breeder Award Program auction of fry submitted by members - great way to get new species for a few bucks.  Usually goes 6:00-8:30, 9:00pm on second Sunday of the month.  Aaron, you should come to one as a guest and check it out.

No problem. Figured I'd ask. Where is the meeting Scott? Do you have to be an actual member to attend the meeting?

No you do not have to be a member to attend your 1st meeting.  Feel free to drop in and introduce yourself.

Aaron, thanks for the offer but I'm moving on to other breeding projects and need the tank space.  I can pass his female on to you - come to our club mtg Sunday and I'll bring her for you.

The two males I got from you are doing very well Scott. Would you like to have one back and give it another go?

I tried my best, but I failed to get the male comfortable enough to thrive. He bloated up like Kirstie Ally and is no more. The female is doing well, but she is a dither going forward.  Maybe down the road, I'll try again, but this is such a difficult species to keep.

I know what you mean.  I handed a male off to a new friend today and now I have the best dominant male in a divided tank with my last female. Last shot at breeding.

Sorry to hear they are being a pain...good luck with the remaining four.  I hate it when there is seeming nothing a fish keeper can do to prevent fish from dying.

Not checked for facts.
