I have the Cichlid News  January 2005. The markings on the chin and the pattern are like the marlieri. The brownish color is like the transcriptus. If the pattern blackens, I think they would be the marlieri.

henry, that second link is wayyyy closer than before but not quite. dragonkeeper, a guy dropped them off at the petstore down the street so i traded for some of my male peacocks i dont really care about. he said the guy who dropped them off has a breeding pair and those were all babies that he didnt want.

Not sure what you have. The patterns are similar to a transscriptus, but the color of the fins is wrong. It's possible that you may have a hybrid, but I doubt it. Who did you get them from?

no they arent stressed thats a day after putting them in. i think they are maleri, go check out some pics of those they look really close

it looks like a cross then between the Julidochromis transcriptus ornatus inless the ornatus is just stressed or some thing

no they aren't ornatus because the stripes run up and down and side to side instead of just side to side
