I have 40 Lemon yellows and 20 demasoni in a 75 gallon and I have no problems.  The demasoni pick on each other and the yellows just hang out.  I would like to add a couple of more demasoni at some point to further reduce their aggression

Kegger22 how many fry do you get out of those dems. Geez 30. I wonder what happened to your labs, that is odd.

hard to get the dems out of the tank before they spit, the rocks I have in there right now have so many nooks and crannies they go up into the holes and don't like to come out even if I pull the rock out of the water so I catch what I can and the rest just spit in the tank and take their chances
think I have about 10 to 15 fry that I've managed to get and then the 2 moms have been placed in their own tank so I know who the females are and just try to seperate them like that for the time being until I get a few more then throw a male in with them so it'll be easier to track them

I have a 75 with both of them housed together, so far the only agression I have is between the Dem's themselves and they really don't bother the labs at all, have about 30 Dems and I would say about 15 to 20 labs in there right now, only thing is all of a sudden the lab baby factory shut down and I can't fathom why, maybe they are on a holiday break or something

Watch out it sounds like your labs are unionizing.....LOL
;D

oh wouldn't that be just great, they'll be striking with the writers any day now, I can here their demands now
"we want some of the water made in that beer you drink" ;D

i like the tank and am a huge fan of demasoni. i have been thinking of doing a Lab / demasoni tank but worry about the agreassiveness of the demasoni and the larger size of the Labs.

the demasoni top out at 3 inches while the labs get to 5 inches. maybe after a while longer of just a demasoni tank i will add some Labs that are about 3 inches.

what kinds of aggression do you experience with the tank?

also with that rockwork how do you get them to stay as a Bridge? did you silicone or epoxy them together?

By the time they grow out of that tank I definitely plan on moving them to a more appropriate housing.

I built the rockwork by using pillars and bridges out of the Marineland epoxy and stones and slate from Schwake Stone Company in Des Plaines. The nice part is everything can be easily disassembled. The plants were all made by using my drill press to drill holes in the slate and using a glue gun to attach them.

As far as aggression... I have over a 2:1 ratio on hiding places per fish, they get along great. I did lose 1 pleco, but when I bought the bag of 3 I noticed one sort of being lazy. I sort of knew he wouldn't last.
