New tank, what kind of fish?

-- I know you placed this topic in the New World category - and I can appreciate the beauty of the big, robust monsters of South and Central America - but it sounds like what you are looking for is an active tank full of mbuna. You could fill the tank with a nice mix of Malawian haps, but ultimately they get fairly large as well. With rock dwelling mbuna from Lake Malawi and perhaps a species or two from Lakes Tanganyika and Victoria, you could have a really cool mix that will capture the eye and never lack for activity. I currently have a 75 gallon aquarium with Pseudotropheus demasoni, Pseudotropheus sp. 'acei', Neochromis omnicaeruleus, and Neolamprologus leleupi that is very fetching. I suggest if you decide to go this route, you buy your fish in groups as the behavior exhibited by fish of the same species is very interesting. With groups you will likely have less aggression between individuals as well, as the fish focus mainly on their own kind and form separate hierarchies. Those are just my thoughts on the matter.

Looks like a Salvini, Oscar, and Africans? If thats the case, I would not keep Africans with CA/SA. Different water parameters need to be met, along with different socializing the New Worlds have compared to Old World.

I now have a 125gallon with large cichlids. I hope to sell the mature fish and get a younger more busy looking tank. I would like to sell my older 55gallon tank and is needed if anyone would like it also my fish need a new home also. But i need suggestions a a brighter busier tank. Either that or a more impressive tank that has something like arowana and piranha. Thank you.
