Yeah that dude in the Parking Lot selling Labs

sounds like the club should change non members to post ad's- it would also cut down on the spam

What do you expect people to do when you sell out of tables?  Now if the same guy is selling in the parking lot EVERY swap that's a different matter and one that can and should be addressed with the individual.

Non member post a couple of dozen ad's here for free.  Then have people meet at the swap in the  parking lot.  I guess this is something the BOD has already addressed

I had a good time except for the fact that I got lost in Wisconsin while coming down (don't ask).  Purchased plecos from plecopete, some pleco caves, some Endlers from Captain Bob and some peacocks from Kegger (although he conned me into getting them...  :)).  Met a few peeps again Sawboy, dgranier, Kegger and Ray.  Hopefully, I don't down for the classic (currently going through a midlife fish crisis and don't know what I want to keep anymore) even though it is quite tempting...

Got Green? What's your carbon footprint?

I'm sorry I missed it. Looked like everyone had fun. I probably would've ended up with a better fantasy baseball team if I went to the swap rather than my draft too. :D

Once again Ray,  you speak before you think.  Let me help you out a little.

There were tables that were not used.

Wrong Ray.  There were not table(s) unused. There was one table that was unused.  It belonged to a "no show". And since I had no one come to me seeking a table I could not fill it. The other table was a water station table that did not belong in the room.

And if a person wants a table bad enough they could contact the swap chairperson to see what we could work out.

True.  However,  as stated above,  no one came to me looking for a table.  I actually had a vendor tell me he was willing to split if someone did show up looking but no one did.

Ric perez had 6 tables under his and his wife's name. One of those easily could have been given up if we really needed them. Ric reserves for his out of state buddies and pays for all the tables.

Wrong AGAIN Ray.  Oddly enough when I was checking in people and collecting the monies,  I did not see you to my right or my left,  so I wonder how you come to this conclusion. Yes Ric had 6 tables reserved under his and his wifes name.  However he, Pete and his wife used four.  The other two were actually used by the gal that used to own King Coral. And Ric did not pay for all of them.  They were paid for by the people using them.

At the last swap we had people in the hallway with tables,

That was a one time thing.  It was done to correct an error.  Tables will not be set up in the hallway again for this exact reason.  Do it once and people think it should always be that way.  As a matter of fact I had a vendor who had been to every swap for the last four years on the waitlist who desperately wanted a table.  Myself,  Sam Miller and Rick all decided against it.  Bad precedent to set.......proven by your very words Ray. The good news is that a cancellation came up and that vendor was called immediately and he took the table.

we could have found space if needed.

Most likely true Ray. I am sure that if someone had come to me,  I could have found someone willing to split a table,  I have some freinds in the room and even a relative that was a vendor.  I am sure I could've pulled a favor................but since no one came to me,  nothing could be done about it.

maybe we should look at limiting the number of tables to 3 instead of 4.

Ray,  have you ever heard the saying "If it ain't broke,  don't fix it."?  The swap has been very successful for many years, long before I got here, and Dave before me.  No need to change something that has worked and worked well for a long time because one guy decided to sell out of the lot.  Personally,  if I were a vendor,  I would be p-i-s-s-e-d off.  Vendors spend $35 to sell,  and he did it for free.  Additionally,  had someone brought it to my attention,  I would have asked him to come inside.  Barring that,  I am sure that the hotel does not condone that activity.

I hope this clears things up for you Ray.

No, Robert Stevens from Livonia, Michigan was selling in the parking lot.

as far as selling out of the parking lot, not sure how the club would have any legal right to stop it and I'm sure as long as there are cell phones in the world there will be ways to get around it so it's gonna be an issue longer than I'm gonna be alive so I'm not gonna touch that one or argue about it but as for the ummmmm young man that Dave was referring to about the yellow labs, I was standing right next to Dave when it all went down and now that my brain is semi awake and I can think back a bit I remeber exactly who the guy is(it's not Bob Stevens) but rather someone I came across about 2 years ago and after remembering who he was it seems he hasn't changed a bit but is rather normal for this young lad to act the way he did
