My gymnogeophagus are in a 15 long on the bottom of the rack so I don't really get to look at them. They are still kinda small though. My tropheus are looking awesome and they are only 3/4-1.

And the gymno's didn't ride in the bed of the truck. They were in my styro's

F1 Gymnogeophagus blue neon
and
F1 Gymnogeophagus  Paso Pache

At first they were so cheap I figured hey I know someone that would like these...then when I saw them in the bag I bought two more bags

The truck was so full of fish, on the ride home we tested how geo handle cooler water.  They had to ride home in the bed of the truck and they were all doing fine last night - Now this moring the blue neons really colored up

You got the Gymnogeos, right Dave?

Talk to me, I have been keeping Gymnos for about 2 years now, mine are doing really well, and I have both species you got.

Got to see some pretty neat fish, and lots of new worlds...I had never been to a ACA before so I didn't know what to expect.  The show room fish were pretty neat,  They had an amririllo that took up the entire 10g tank, they also had a blue discuss that had to be 10" tall.  lots a colorful geo's, but I think the best fish we saw was a champ.

The rental tank room was mass chaos - We stopped back I n Sunday for tear down and got a few deals - I got so barred midis and some amp red Isletas.  I keep telling my self I am done with amp, but yet I keep getting them.

The vendors had some pretty good deals holy rock 1.50$ a pound, 10$ of 5# of NLS and fx5's seemed to be the steal of the show, they all sold out the first day.

While the auction had a few problems over all the went pretty well.  Prices were all over the board 30$ for 3 WC comps all of 4" - 25$ for 4 2" chocolate cichlids, 85$ for 2 small pike type's.  In the beginning they were priority all the stendker discuss, and 1 bag of 4 red ones that were quarter size went for 70, then next bag that was the same just in blue went for 30$.

There was a huge variety of fish but they got overloaded with gymgeo and throp's.  Towards the ends throp were going for 2$ and gymgeo were a buck a fish.

I did pick up 15 geo, the blue neons and the paso pache's for like 16$

Also picked up 22 10g and a bunch of sponge filters.

The fish seemed to do ok on the drive home, and the gymgeo blue neons and the Kristy eye are both looking pretty sharp so far.

now I am really looking forward to next year - and kind kicking myself for not get more of the geo's

Dave and I were on the road home by 8:00pm Ohio time. I don't know how many bags there were but I've seen larger auction at the GCCA. The most expensive bag of wish went for $150 and were a pair of wild caught Catfish of some sort.

I am very lad i did not bring any Bristlenose plecos because they were very cheap as well and there weren't that many in the auction. 'Albino' blue eye Bristlenose were going for 4-5 each, which typically sell at swaps for $15 each.

well, 8 hours after releasing everything into my tanks I have NO LOSSES to report. It's amazing how well fish travel and acclimate.

Well the auction was kinda a clusterf*** and the women working the staging area blamed on an 8 year old girl.

I did get some steals though. Everyone at the auction got a bag of gymnogeophagus sp. whatever because they got rid of the rule on limiting each seller to 5 bags of one species. In the last 2 hours of the auction you could pretty get any gymno species ever described for $1 a fish or less. I picked up 10 of the Muerte creek species, and Dave got 2 different types.

I got 3 good sized firemouths, Which when vented appear to be all females for $4.

I got a group of A Baenschi, 1m/5f for 20. The male is about 5 inches and very pretty.

and best of all I got 3 bags totaling 24  F1 Tropheus moorii "Kachese" for $2 each.

I also got a pound of Kens food for $7, and a 5# bucket of NLS grow for $40.

Surprisingly enough all of the fish I bought survived the 6 1/2 hour drive back and are currently in their place until I get things set up better.
