Members who BAP and wish to trade breeders or fry

8 years 1 month ago #30496 by sawboy2
Yup. Those are mine. Yes they've been bred in captivity. I bred them myself, and a few other club members have as well. Not easy, but not like breeding Psittacus either!  My reason for selling is I lost my male and I need the space as I am getting Frontosa crazy. Males can be had from lots of shippers. Probably have to buy in pairs, but that's better anyway.

Were those your Champs on the classifieds? That's another one that caught my eye. Have those been bred in captivity? Any idea where I could pick up a male?

I've got Hericthys Carpintis (Laguna Chairel) fry if anyone wants to take a shot at raising them. Parents came from Conkel stock at our last rare fish auction. I can bring to the next meeting or pick up in Woodstock. Available to BAP participants only. If interested send a PM.

OK,  time to thin the herd and make space for my steadily growing groups of frontosa. Lots of stuff here.

A breeding group of Pseudotrophes Acei "Tanzanian Black"  Gorgeous fish.  5 fish.  Most likely 3m/2f (Hard to tell as the dominant male is a true bas tard and won't let anyone else have a shot at showing colors!)

Pair of Peacocks.  I forget which type.  I got them as a trio from Mike Helford.  They are NOT hybrids.  Got em from Mike,  stuck em in a tank, one female died, no luck breeding so off they go.

One Pike cichlid.  Not sure which type,  he's your standard pet shop variety.  Very cool,  but I need to free up space.  he will ONLY eat shrimp and live food.  If you can't provide him this,  please don't take him.

One Dovii (probably male) from last years rare fish auction.  He is the yellow variant about 6" long.  Only eats shrimp and live food. Again,  if you cannot provide him the space and food he requires,  please don't take him.

Group of Amatitliana Kanna.  One pair, and a couple odd wheels.

These are all FREE to members in good standing who ACTIVELY participate and share fish amongst the club. These fish can be picked up at my place,  or I will bring to the meeting.

I also have some stuff going up on the classifeids,  so check there as well.

Scott,

I have room now for the Lyonsi. I still need to wait on the Siquia. I have some Amphilophus Labiatus fry for trade/BAP giveaway (any members). They are 1" to 1-1/2", and should be from your (white) pair. They are changing colors now.

I'm never sure what you'd like, as you already covered a lot of the Centrals. I have a pair of Vieja Argentia (with tubes out) if you'd like fry from those. I also have a full grown male Cuban I can spare. Any interest?

I'll bring you some lyonsi next mtg.  I appreciate the offer on fry, but I have so many fish growing out and I'm all tapped out of space, I'll have to pass.

If anyone else wants lyonsi, lemme know.  An endangered species, not your typical Amphilophus - very mild-mannered and colorful.
