Puerto Rico non-native cichlids

10 years 2 months ago #25739 by whetfish
All that fishing make me want more new worlds...especially a pair of peacock bass.

Mango Salsa sounds tasty, but we had this ketchup/mayo sauce they have in PR. I haven't seen it in IL, but I've heard it's called fry sauce in Utah.

You would think her mantra would be "Resistance is futile" and that would not be an issue.

Pan Fried Huh Aaron? With some Mango Salsa?

;D

Yup, if she had just, how shall we say, submitted, Obama would still be a community organizer.

All of the peacock bass went back.  There was only one jaguar and one oreochromis and a bunch of "red devils".  Pan fried they all tasted great.

Unfortunately I didn't snag a picture of the tilapia.  It was dark grey and had red on the edge of it dorsal fin and on most of it's tail fin.  With regard to the amps, if they were labiatus aren't the females barred?  We didn't catch a single barred amp.

Aaron-

Excellent pics man! What a experience! When I was in Mexico, we went inland for "Fresh Water Fishing" with (to me) the lure of Jags, Amps, texas, etc...

Yet I was nowhere as lucky as you were! I caught 1 fish, a largie.....Dang It! (But did enjoy the Iguana fajitas...Chicken of the Trees they called em)

Darn Nice looking Peacocks bro!

Thanks for sharing the pics, excellent!
