I would keep it AC.  Ditch the Mbuna and get a few more larger Haps.

1300 gal. Water Garden
110 Tanganyikan with many, many dithers
24 JBJ Nano Soon to be for Yellow Comp. pair.

For some South Americans that would look nice I would go with some firemouths, blue acara and EBJD that would be a beautiful tank.

Or you could go with a couple festae ;D ;D ;D

Mike has a great point. You already have some peacocks. Get the number to 10,12 or 14 of some decent size and it will be gorgeous and very active.

Problem with any sa and ca fish is that almost all want the lower tier of the tank and territorial disputes are almost unavoidable. And if a pair happens, downright aggression will ensue.

One idea, especially for a show tank, is to go with a peacock all male tank.

Put 12 male peacocks in there - it will be pretty vibrant.

I have a 90 gallon tall tank, I believe it is 36" wide, 18" front to back, and about 30" tall?  I currently have a mixed Mbuna and Peacock Malawi mix.  My wife wants fewer fish but larger fish, since this tank is visible in our family room where we have guests visit.  I don't want to go with Angels or Discus again, I am looking for less work than discus.  I have had angels a few years ago and they just stood still and barely moved, and then they got territorial when they tried to pair off.  I don't know a thing about SA or CA fish, but was wondering if there were some good options I could start exploring for a community type tank with a larger size fish.  I don't think I want Oscars, every oscar tank I have seen is pretty filthy and bare of decorations.  Plus I don't want to get into feeding live feeder fish.  Any suggestions?  I am able to use a python to drain and refill with city water.
If I could get 4-10 fish in this tank, generally peacefull, some color, larger size, that would fit the bill.
